Originally imported to Midland from Germany, this SL has had 3 owners, and with me at Tiny Beach for 3years. Garages and only occasional summer use by me and prior owner for 13 years. Professionally stripped and disassembled in 2010 for repainting in correct India Ivory/Twilight Turquoise, this beauty’s clean engine is powered by an original factory-optional 265 CID V8 Chevrolet powerpack 4-barrel engine rated 205HP and mated to a rebuilt 2-speed powerglide transmission
Front disc brake conversion, powering steering and brakes along with front and rear sway bars provide a smooth ride. Dual exhaust outlets with extensions, replated chrome bumpers with overriders, factory stainless steel mouldings and authentic radio antenna are all in very good condition. Body-color 15″ steel wheels with Coker Classic wide whitewall radial tires sport accessory rear steel fender skirts. The cabin is in excellent condition housing two rows of bench seats upholstered in correct turquoise/silver vinyl with lap belts. The dashboard features bright metal trim, analog clock, tissue dispenser and lockable glove box and master power kill switch. The authentic factory 3-spoke steering wheel features chrome horn ring framing a 110-mph speedometer and gauges for engine temperature and fuel level. The 5-digit mechanical odometer shows 69,800 mi. A 14” electric cooling fan fitted ahead of the radiator core with interior temperature gauge means worry-free idling.
